Vail businesses help ‘A Day for Andrew’ March 19

Several stores in Vail, Colorado’s Lionshead village will participate in “A Day For Andrew” March 19, an event to help a local youth in the last weeks of his life.

Andrew Claymon, 16, has been fighting a very aggressive and rare form of cancer. This winter his family received the news that Andrew’s cancer has progressed to the point that his doctors have given him little time to live.

In the time he has left, Andrew has identified several things he’d like to do, including traveling to Argentina.

Merchants including Avalon, Arriesgado, Eye Pieces, The General Store Montauk, Tavern on the Square deck, will donate a percentage of their March 19 sales to Andrew’s cause. Donation boxes will also be available throughout Lionshead.

Donations and contributions can be made to the “Andrew Claymon Argentina Fund” at any FirstBank location, by check to Andrew’s mother, Joni Claymon, P.O. Box 1238, Edwards, 81632; or through the Vail Valley Charitable Fund in Andrew’s name, at http://www.vvcf.org/Help_The_Cause.html.
