Vail candidates forum Monday

The Vail Chamber & Business Association is sponsoring an interactive forum Monday for the eight candidates for Vail Town Council.David O. Williams, editor of the Vail Trail, will moderate; members of the chamber’s board of directors also will participate.Prepared questions will focus on topics of special importance to the local business community and that affect the economic vitality and future of the town of Vail. An open microphone also will be available for audience partipitation.”We’re hoping to put a spin on how these kinds of things go and make it more interactive with the community,” says the chamber’s Kaye Ferry.The candidates are:- Mark Gordon, who works for Vail Resorts as a lead foreman at the company’s communications center in Lionshead- Bill Jewitt, incumbent councilman and co-owner of Bart & Yeti’s bar and restaurant in Lionshead.- Kent Logan, a retired investment banker.- Dave McDougall, a bartender at Blu’s Restaurant in Vail.- Greg Moffet, incumbent councilman and owner of TIGA Advertising in Vail.- Paul Rondeau, a retired IBM employee.- Kim Ruotolo, who works multiple jobs.- Rod Slifer, incumbent councilman and a senior partner in Slifer, Smith and Frampton Real Estate Co.The forum will be held Monday from 6-9 p.m. in the Town Council’s chambers at Vail Town Hall on South Frontage Road.
