Vail Cascade donates to Habitat for Humanity

Daily Staff Report
Vail, CO, Colorado

The Vail Cascade Resort presented a check FOR $800 to Habitat for Humanity of the Eagle and Lake Counties recently. The donation came from a “Candlelight Dinner” at the Atwater on Gore Creek Restaurant. That dinner donated 10 percent of its proceeds to Habitat.

The March 27 event lit the restaurant with hundreds of candles in honor of “Earth Hour,” a worldwide event in which people and businesses were invited to turn out their lights for an hour.

Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties is now building 16 homes in Edwards. Those homes are all LEED certified.

“The donation by Atwater is a welcome gift that will be used locally in our efforts at Habitat for Humanity of the Vail Valley,” Habitat representative Kristi Moon said. “We look forward to working with The Vail Cascade Resort on future projects that will benefit those in need.”
