Lourdes FerzaccaVail, CO, Colorado

We had a year of great progress for the Vail Chamber & Business Association in 2007. In addition to expanding our membership, the Chamber added to its already extensive list of activities and projects. In serving the community in the most effective and beneficial ways possible, the Vail Chamber has become more and more successful each year. The Vail Chamber has many partners that work to attract and expand our membership. First and foremost, the Chamber partners with the town of Vail on a variety of business issues, programs and town meetings. Our most popular benefit still remains the discounted Merchant Ski Pass, and our partnership with Vail Resorts has made the Turn It Up! classes an essential part of increasing the level of customer service in Vail. New this year was a luncheon class with Bill Jensen of Vail Resorts, who discussed customer service. These philosophies have made Vail Resorts one of the top ski companies in the world. The Chamber also has joined with the Vail Recreation District to offer a discounted Merchant Golf pass and a discounted Vail Film Festival pass.New membership benefits also include partnership with Colorado Activity Centers to produce the Vail Guide. This publication includes a business listing which is free to Vail Chamber members. The Vail Guide is distributed along Interstate 70 from Denver International Airport to Glenwood Springs and has become a staple display at most lodges in Vail. Colorado Activity Centers also offers discounted advertising in the Vail Guide and the Colorado Vacation Planner to Chamber members. The Vail Chamber already advertises the Vail Gift Card and our reservation service in both publications. For those looking for more advertising opportunities, the Vail Chamber has newspaper, radio, and TV benefits. The Vail Daily partnership includes a free, one-time ad in either the Daily or the Vail Trail if your business is not currently a Daily advertiser. KTUN the Eagle will match $500 of radio ads with the purchase of $500 in ads. And for those looking for visual marketing, TV8 offers a free, live, four-minute television interview for Vail Chamber members.Other benefits include financial and merchandise discounts. Heartland Payment Systems offers credit and debit card processing, Rocky Mountain Health Plans offers comprehensive health insurance plans, and FirstBank offers free appraisal on consumer mortgages, no closing costs on home equity lines of credit, free personal and business checking, along with internet banking. Other benefits includes discounts with Costco, Sandy’s Office Supply, Delta Q Energy, and Names and Numbers.Lourdes Ferzacca is president of the Vail Chamber & Business Association Board of Directors.
