Vail Chamber appoints new executive director

Daily staff report

VAIL — The Vail Chamber and Business Association has announced that Alison Wadey has been named its executive director. Wadey will be based in the chamber’s Vail Village office and is responsible for community outreach and membership development.

“Alison brings new vigor and talent to our VCBA team. She is a great asset,” said Lourdes Ferzacca, board director. “She has credibility within the community and possesses a passion about the Vail community, but even more than that, she has an innate sense for what our unique organization is all about.”

Wadey has been working behind the scenes at the chamber for the past two years, supporting the day-to-day operations and working with current and potential members.

Wadey is an independent marketing consultant to small businesses throughout the valley.

Prior to starting her own company, Wadey was the director of membership and marketing at The Club at Cordillera in Edwards. She was responsible for programming, sales and marketing, and communications to a vibrant membership of over 600.

She has lived in the Vail area for over 15 years, working at local Vail businesses, before taking the position at the Club at Cordillera.

Wadey has been a member of the Vail Rotary Club for the past five years and is currently serving on its board and acting as their membership chair.

“I love Vail and the greater community I have come to call home,” Wadey said. “I look forward to bringing that passion to the great board and organization already in place at the Vail Chamber and Business Association. The VCBA has a role to play in this special community. Through grassroots efforts we can help better communicate to and advocate on behalf of the Vail business community, in conjunction with other entities such as the town of Vail and Vail Resorts. I look forward to the opportunity to do just that.”

Wadey may be reached by phone at 970-477-0075 or email at alisonw@vail

Wadey, her husband, Matt and their children Connor and Lindsey reside in Avon and are active members of the community.
