Vail Chamber appoints newest board member

The Vail Chamber & Business Association is proud to announce the addition of Lance Thompson, general manager of The Sebastian Vail, to its board of directors. Thompson is also the director of resort operations for the Timbers Resorts.

“Lance brings a much needed perspective as a member of the lodging community to the VCBA team. He is a great asset,” said Lourdes Ferzacca, board director. “He has credibility within the community and possesses a passion about the Vail community.”

Thompson’s Background

Since joining Timbers Resorts, Thompson has been instrumental in expanding the hotel and resort management capability. He has successfully opened two new properties and has acquired operational responsibilities for two other properties. His oversight of Timbers Resorts’ operations has led to recognition by Travel + Leisure, which deemed The Sebastian Vail as the No. 2 resort in the United States and Castello di Casole as the No. 1 resort in Europe and No. 2 resort in the world; Fractional Life Awards for One Steamboat Place, The Sebastian Vail, and Castello di Casole; and Conde Nast Gold List awards for multiple properties within the Timbers Resorts portfolio.

“I look forward to being a part of the strong board and organization already in place at the Vail Chamber & Business Association,” Thompson said. “The VCBA has a role to play in this special community. Through grassroots efforts we can help better communicate to and advocate on behalf of the Vail business community, in conjunction with other entities such as the town of Vail and Vail Resorts.”

Thompson and his wife, Jenny, and their sons, Tyce and Ryder, reside in Vail and are active members of the community.
