Vail Chamber names new director

Lourdes FerzaccaVail, CO, Colorado

The Vail Chamber & Business Association Board of Directors is happy to announce that Rich tenBraak will serve as the new director of the group. Rich brings more than 20 years of experience as a successful hospitality executive to fulfilling the goals that the Vail chamber is trying to achieve. Living in the Vail Valley for almost 10 years now, Rich has served as a former board member of the Vail Chamber & Business Association, as well a board member for both the town of Vail Commission on Special Events and the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council. Because of his experiences in the area, Rich understands that the needs of our members is our greatest priority. Providing our members with a communications source so they can send and receive important information is a priority for us, Rich said. We have recently made some changes to the communications of the VCBA. This will allow us to understand what our members needs are and be able to help facilitate those needs in a timely fashion. In discussions with local businesses over the past few months, many in the area would like to see more efforts devoted to developing strategies to lure guests to Vail during the summer and slower months. In conjunction with local business members and various committees, the Vail chamber is working hard to develop ideas and events that will maximize the amount of foot traffic in Vail. Starting with three food events this summer, the Vail chamber will host the South of the Border Fiesta June 20, the BBQ Bonanza June 27 and Sweet on Vail Aug. 15. With these events, the Vail chamber hopes to fill a void during times in Vail that are traditionally not as crowded. Our monthly meetings are a great place for local business owners and managers to have a forum to discuss concerns and ideas with each other. The next monthly meeting is Tuesday, March 17 at the Happy Valley Grill located at the Vail Golf Course. The meeting starts at 8 a.m. Among various topics of discussion will be a marketing panel of local business leaders to discuss Business Tactics in Tough Economic Times. We would like to invite all members of the community to join us at the meeting. Lourdes Ferzacca serves on the Vail Chamber & Business Association Board of Directors and is also the owner of the LaTour and ZaccaZa restaurants.
