Lourdes FerzaccaVail, CO, Colorado

The Vail Chamber & Business Association is proud to announce an exciting and unique opportunity in business strategy development. Local businesses will have an opportunity this fall to participate in a new leadership and experiential training educational workshop presented by the Disney Institute. The Disney Keys to Excellence program will join with local sponsors, the Vail Chamber and Vail Resorts to let participants experience the business behind the magic in Vail. Walt Disney created a successful international business by being innovative, taking risks, appreciating and respecting his employees and understanding his customers needs. It was out of these business practices that the Disney Institute was born. Since 1995, the Disney Keys program has been visiting business communities and putting on educational workshops to help create positive change in the workplace. On Sept. 22, Vail businesses and employees will have an opportunity to attend the Disney Keys program. Attendance will fulfill Turn it Up! requirements for the merchant-pass program. The seminar will focus on themes of quality and exceeding expectations. The four-part program covers leadership management, service and loyalty Disney-style.The leadership element will help participants discover how effective leadership has been a catalyst at Disney to drive employee and customer satisfaction and bottom-line results. Participants will learn how to communicate a compelling vision, build involvement and ownership, organize for maximum involvement and capitalize on change.Management Disney-style will teach participants how to establish a culture through learning by design how to select and hire right fit employees, train and motivate employees and create a supportive environment. Participants will learn to understand the importance of selection, training and care of employees. The service portion will present ideas about developing a service philosophy, learning tools to support a service culture and delivering on the service theme.Loyalty Disney-style will examine the strategies of a corporation that has been a trusted brand around the world for more than 75 years by assessing the business case for loyalty and strategies for creating loyalty, and it will help participants learn how to align for loyalty. The Disney Keys program provides an opportunity for local businesses to add some Disney magic to their order of operations and to participate in a renowned and successful program before the start of the 2008-09 season.
