Vail Christian gets $75K science grant
EDWARDS – The Vail Christian High School science program recently received a &75,000 to purchase equipment and materials to help build their science program.
Science teachers Mindy Larson and Mike King said they are thrilled with the funds and are very appreciative of the Wheeler Foundation. “We are in the process of planning the new campus … meeting with the architects to discuss lab arrangement and facilities, and making plans to equip our new classrooms at the new school,” Larson said.
“Lisa Huzella, board member of the Wheeler Foundation and (Vail Christian High School) parent, approached me and asked what it would take to put together a biotechnology and engineering program at the high school level,” Larson said. Huzella asked King and Larson to put together a wish list of items for a top-notch program. The Wheeler Foundation fulfilled every request with the sum of the grant.
“We’ve already received a check for $54,000 and will receive the rest next fall,” Larson said. For more information on programs at Vail Christian High School, call 926-3015.
