Vail Christian to host broadcast of leadership summit

EDWARDS, Colorado – The Leadership Summit, an event that brings together more than 100,000 leaders from church and business communities, will be broadcast live via satellite at the Vail Christian High School in Edwards on Thursday and Friday.

The event is hosted by the Willow Creek Association in South Barrinton, Ill. It will be broadcast live to 140 cities across North America.

Bono, lead singer of U2, will provide a progress report on his challenge to summit attendees three years ago to take up the cause against HIV/AIDS. Meanwhile, a world class faculty will help participants unlock the “cascading effect” a leader can have on an organization. Learn powerful leadership techniques like casting vision, motivating others, self-management, team building, and more. The event will runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Speakers include:

• Bill Hybels, founding and senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill., rated the “Most Influential Church” in the U.S. in 2006; author of Axiom: Powerful Leadership Proverbs

• Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister; awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush; author of The Courage of Our Convictions.

• Carly Fiorina, former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard; first woman to head a Dow 30 company; named “The Most Powerful Woman in Business” by Fortune for six years in a row.

• David Gergen, political analyst for CNN and PBS; served under Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton; professor at Harvard’s School of Public Leadership.

• Harvey Carey, founder and senior pastor of the Citadel of Faith Covenant Church; Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corporation.

• Jessica Jackley, co-founder of; work featured on Oprah and Today; graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business.
