VAIL, Colorado ” Local residents may be able to park on Frontage Road if the Colorado Department of Transportation and the town of Vail work out a program that would give local workers and residents parking permits.

Town Council members said they wanted to create a pilot program this winter that would allow parking on Vail’s main road during certain hours in certain areas. Other ski towns allow similar parking, council members said.

“If we could do a pilot program this year, work on it, and do a more extensive program next year,” said Councilman Andy Daly.

Town staff will work with the Department of Transportation to see what sort of parking program can be created.
