Vail cooking demo, Chef’s in the Gardens, hosts Lord Gore chef
VAIL CO, Colorado
VAIL – The Lord Gore Restaurant at Manor Vail Lodge invites guests and local residents to sample chef de cuisine Matt Petrie’s creative American cuisine with a Southern flare Thursday during a Chefs in the Garden event at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. today in the Children’s Garden, near the Schoolhouse gift shop and museum in Vail’s Ford Park. The event is open to the public, and a $5 donation is requested.
Located at the base of Vail Mountain’s Golden Peak, Lord Gore features some of the best dining views in all of the Vail Valley.
Petrie brings his culinary talents from North Carolina, where he worked for some of the top hotels and clubs in the area, including Richmond Hill Inn, Esseola lodge and as executive chef of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. In 2007, the Rocky Mountains and all that they have to offer lured him to Vail. His tenure includes some of Vail’s finest kitchens, including the Game Creek Club, La Tour Restaurant and now chef de cuisine for the Manor Vail Lodge where he oversees the Lord Gore Restaurant, Fitz Lounge, room service and banquets and catering.
