What goods or services do you provide? We are the Vail Valley’s new resource for contemporary home furnishings and interior design at affordable prices.

What’s new or exciting at your place? Everything. We opened March 18 and have new pieces coming in every week. We are looking forward to showing two more Colorado artists very soon as well as Heidi Jung and Susan Heiderer, who are currently on display. Our partnership with Rys Olsen, our kitchen designer, who will be showing an Arclinea kitchen from Italy in our showroom is also exciting.

What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition? First, our style is contemporary with a family-friendly emphasis. We carry furnishings and accessories that are inviting, comfortable and easy to live with every day.

Second, we are always looking for environmentally concious manufacturers. Most important, our price point is reasonable without requiring a trip to Denver.

What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? At Complements, we really listen to our customers’ needs and desires and interpret them into a relaxed contemporary environment that is reflective of their personalities. Buying home furnishings should be fun, whether it’s a vase or a whole house. We want our customers to have a great time when ever they come to Complements.

What can your customers expect from you? Over the top customer service. A fun atmosphere to hang out in, great furniture, art and gifts.

Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: Julie has been involved in Art and Design since 1993. Graduate of Seattle Art Institute.

Julie grew up in Denver and is the daughter of a very forward thinking contemporary Architect. John has worked in business management for over 20 years, locally in the Vail area since 1997.

What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened? We are so happy to be here we laugh all the time. Come join us!
