Vail Daily column: Vail Chamber: Gear up for summer
It’s raining, it’s sunny, it’s snowing – oh, yeah, it’s spring time in the Rockies, and I am sitting here staring at a blank Word document (not paper anymore!) in my Vail office, listening to children’s elated screams of joy, as well as various hoots and hollers from our visitors in the street. This reminds me of what makes Vail so special – we get a little bit of everything! As the ski season is starting to wind down, we all get to look back on the highs and lows of the season and reminisce about the people whose vacations touched us, and the memories that we helped them to create. We also get to start preparing for the summer. Today, on my walkabout, I was asked to take pictures of a family at the ice rink, and then a couple at the Covered Bridge asked for directions, which subtly reminded me of how important it is to share our home, experiences and information with one another and our guests. At the Vail Chamber & Business Association, we strive to disseminate relevant and timely information throughout our professional and informal networks. We talk regularly with our fellow businesses on a wide variety of Vail-centric topics, but most importantly, we have our finger on the pulse of our fellow businesses. We realize that our successes are intertwined and strive to build upon them by being the voice of our business community. Equally important, we are listening to a variety of sources for our members who may not have the time to be everywhere, all of the time. On Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., we will be hosting a VCBA Mixer at Billy’s Island Grill in Lionshead, and we are inviting you to come and listen to Adam Sutner, who works with the town of Vail on special events and marketing, talk about this summer’s upcoming events and happenings. You are strongly encouraged to RSVP for this informative networking opportunity at 970-477-0075 or firstname.lastname@example.org . There is no cost to attend the mixer, and you will learn about the full calendar of events planned to help drive our business during the summer as well as all the benefits of being a member of the Vail Chamber & Business Association brings! Hey, guess what? It’s sunny again!Stay involved and stay informed.
