Vail Daily column: Vail Chamber is here to help
The weather, as supposedly quoted by Mark Twain, is something “Everybody talks about, but nobody does anything about it.” As I write this, the snow is falling (which of course we can never have too much of) and it’s looking like winter in a ski town. Well, Mark, if we could do something about it, then I’m sure we would! In the meantime, whoever has control of it, keep bringing on the snow.Unlike the weather, the Vail Chamber & Business Association is here to talk about items that affect your business and to help do something about it. It’s something that you do have an influence over. And the VCBA is here to help you with those issues that sometimes you feel you have no time or energy to give to. The VCBA is the voice of the Vail business community.During the years, the VCBA has gotten involved in many different areas to help promote a vibrant business community, from working with Vail Resorts on the Merchant Pass program to the Turn It Up classes and the Premier Impressions customer service programs. The VCBA has worked with the town of Vail, too, in many areas; such as the two hours free and the free after 3 p.m. parking, delivery programs and locations, construction and development schedules, sign ordinances and paint colors and the list goes on and on.The chamber even produced various marketing pieces such as the Vail Guide and events such as the annual Vail Sidewalk Sale, the South of the Border Fiesta and Vail BBQ. We also market your business via our website. So what can the VCBA do for you? We are the organization that is for those that feel that they need a voice and have nowhere to turn.
