Vail Daily letter: Another great river cleanup

Sue Mott

Vail, CO Colorado

Great 17th annual Eagle River Watershed Council River Cleanup!

The fish were scrambling all about as 50 teams of volunteers were out there in Gore Creek, the Eagle River and the Colorado River cleaning up their home sites. It was a wonderful turnout and a gorgeous day to be wading around enjoying the rivers’ beauty. Many thanks to you all who took part – we couldn’t do it without you. After the water fun, a great barbecue was put on by the Arrowhead Broken Arrow Club headed up by Bob Moroney and Stew Hinton. Yummy food!

The ERWC is very grateful for their sponsors of this event presented by Vail Resorts Echo. Those great folks are: El Pomar Foundation, Eagle County, Eagle River Foundation, St. Baldrick’s, First Bank, town of Avon, town of Vail, Vail Daily, Eagle Ranch Association, town of Eagle, Vail Honeywagon, Walsh Environmental, Alpine River Outfitters, Eagle Valley Trout Unlimited, East West Partners, Fly Fishing Outfitters, Lakota Guides, Timberline Tours, town of Gypsum, Arrowhead Alpine Club, CDOT, Copy Copy, Crazy Mountain Brewing Company, Eagle County Landfill, KZYR, Loaded Joe’s, Moe’s Original, NRC Broadcasting and TV8.

Thanks so very much to you teams for your time and effort getting Eagle County’s waterways clean and blue again. Couldn’t be done without such great volunteers.

A wonderful event put on by the Eagle River Watershed Council.
