Vail Daily letter: Casino Night coming

The 25th annual Casino Night is quickly approaching! The program directors of the 10 participating early childhood programs: The Bear’s Den, Discovery School, Pooh Corner, Prater Lane, Family Learning Center, Miller Ranch , Mountain Journey School, Nurturing with Nature, The Treehaus, and Vail Child Care are working together to plan this fun event.

Our mission is to: educate the public about quality programs; acknowledge the deficit in funds all programs experience when parents and public entities alone are paying for child care; and bring to light the diversity in family structures. High quality early childhood programs provide children a good start in life and benefit all sectors of society, now and in the future.

Together, we must face the fact that child care is often undervalued and underfinanced in America. We are reaching out to the community to help us raise funds to provide the best quality programs that we can for our young children.

Casino Night 2012 will take place on Saturday, May 19, at The Lodge at Vail from 7-11p.m. Tickets are being sold at all participating schools. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. This price includes $400 in gaming chips, music by DJ Miles, cash bar and appetizers, silent auction, and 25-plus gaming tables. We also are selling raffle tickets (need not be present to win).

Please call any of the schools to donate silent auction items or to purchase tickets. Please support our littlest citizens of Eagle County … who are our most valuable resource.
