Vail Daily letter: Climb for Literacy
Vail, CO, Colorado
On behalf of Vail Pet Partners, I would like to thank the Climb for Literacy for designating a portion of funds raised to the Wagging Tales reading program. This program operates in local schools and partners young students with certified “reading dogs” who assist them in improving their reading skills.
Longtime local and outdoor enthusiast and coach Ellen Miller is the creator and founder of the Climb for Literacy. The event, now in its fifth year, was hosted by the Vail Athletic Club and featured the Vail Athletic Club climbing team under the supervision of head coach Larry Moore and assistant coaches Courtney Moore, Adam Markert and Justin Miller.
This is a great event that combines the love of sport with the importance of literacy in our valley. Special thanks to Ellen Miller, all the youth climbers, their families, the volunteers who helped belay, coaches, the readers, the donors, the Pet Partners dogs and handlers and the Vail Athletic Club.
