Vail Daily letter: Close call; thanks!

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Habitat for Humanity outlet story in Gypsum for saving our family heirlooms. Recently I was working with Alliance Movers in Gypsum to ship family heirlooms to our son in Hanover, New Hampshire.

I hand-picked everything that needed to be sent from items in our home and items stored at Alliance. They needed to be weighed so a contract could be signed for shipping.

A week passed but I never heard back from the moving company. But just as I was going to call the moving company I received a great big, absolutely delighted thank you call from Tom at the outlet store for Habitat for Humanity. He was calling to thank me for the most generous donation. Big surprise to me!

Needless to say, the heirlooms were retrieved from Habitat, they were shipped and they did arrive in good shape in Hanover. Thank you a million times over to Tom out at Habitat for his great organization and good business habits.

Now I wonder where is my California King mattress that was supposed to ship with the family heirlooms?
