Vail Daily letter: Don’t need that new transportation center in Vail
Vail, CO, Colorado
Why should Vail taxpayers be required to build a new transportation center in Lionshead or anywhere else for that matter to transport fewer skiers?
They can build all they want to and try to sell them but only a finite number of people can use Vail Mountain. The bus service we have now is working well enough. Maximum use is only for holidays and two months of the year.
Why should the town approve any Ever Vail development? Condos being built now are not sold and probably won’t sell for another two years at least. Sales numbers are very questionable until developments are complete and closings actually take place. Vail Resorts should actually be required to complete all infrastructure (including the new Transportation Center if it is needed) and employee housing first if Ever Vail is approved. Financing gimmicks such as sale and leasebacks should be avoided. It is debt any way you look at it, and should be avoided in this financial environment.
Is the Vail Daily (and Town Council) totally lying down on this and not asking the tough questions?
It’s a beautiful day in Colorado,
