Vail Daily letter: Drum roll, please
Vail, CO, Colorado
Right on, Steve Spessard. You hit the nail on the head with your letter “Sweet sound of silence.”
Music in public spaces might have started in the elevator years ago. Then it spread unabashedly to restaurants, waiting rooms, lobbies and supermarkets, et al.
The choices of music usually are horrendous and played loudly and to “the broadest demographic possible.” However, I might buy more product should good jazz be played (softly) in a store.
Some will rightly ask who am I to dictate what others should hear?
In Vail, we will have jazz venues to go to soon and be able to enjoy the music with our undivided attention and smooth body language.
