Vail Daily letter: Eagle-Vail endorsements
Vail, CO, Colorado
I would like to offer my logic on the choices of Reed Ford, Tom Allender and Steven Kirchner for Eagle-Vail Metro District directors.
Tom has been a director with me for the past four years on the metro board and also serves as Eagle-Vail’s representative on the Upper Eagle Valley Water Authority, which is an important and time-consuming position.
Over the past four years, he has done a great job keeping us informed on that water group.
He also has been to countless meetings on the Eagle-Vail pool, community-development meetings and public-input sessions.
He is interested and willing to work for the people of Eagle-Vail as he has done for the past four years.
Reed has been a board member for the past four months and also has spent much time before being appointed to the board serving on different committees and attending public-input sessions as a property owner.
He has taken the time to learn about the workings of both the metro district and the Eagle-Vail Property Owners Association to better utilize the resources of both metro and POA for the revitalization of Eagle-Vail. This has been going on for about three years, so he is up to speed on the Eagle-Vail issues.
Steven Kirchner has been on the development committee of Eagle-Vail for the past three years that helped plan the pool.
He has been coming to meetings, observing and offering his thoughts for the past three to four years, so
he also knows the workings of the community.
He and I don’t always agree, but his thoughts and comments are well reasoned and worth considering.
As a younger member of our community with school-age children, he has spent the time learning about our community and would bring a different insight to the metro district.
