Vail Daily letter: Ford for Eagle-Vail
Vail, CO, Colorado
Hi, my name is Reed Ford and I’m seeking election to the Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District Board of Directors. As a current member, I’m an advocate for our unique and dynamic community, and bring experience and commitment to the position.
Biography: A Colorado resident for over 40 years, I’ve witnessed the changes that have occurred in our Valley since Vail was founded. As a Boulder entrepreneur, I started several computer software, hardware and information technology companies.
My wife, Carolyn, and I bought our home in Eagle-Vail in 2000, moving here full time in 2003. We love the diverse Eagle-Vail community, and participating in its active outdoor lifestyle.
Experience: I began attending Eagle-Vail Metro District board meetings in 2007 to observe and participate. I was involved in the Urban Land Institute’s study as a host and participant, and was a member of the Community Manager Selection Committee. I’m chair of the Golf Committee, and most importantly serve on the Eagle-Vail Metro District board, having been selected to fill a vacancy in January 2010.
Property values: I’m vitally invested in the future of Eagle-Vail. I believe the facilities of Eagle-Vail reflect the community and that as we update the facilities, we enhance our homes’ values.
Fiscal responsibility: I learned as an entrepreneur to manage and stretch meager finances to make my businesses thrive, and will use that expertise to manage the Metro District’s financial resources to make the most of our dollars.
Community: Over the past several years, other communities’ perception of Eagle-Vail has changed for the better. I believe that a joint governance board combining the Metro District Board and the Property Owners Association Board into single governing voice is a positive step.
I’m asking for your vote in the upcoming election to allow me to continue serving and improving our community.
I have teamed up with Tom Allender and Steven Kirchner for the election for their experience and strong commitment to Eagle-Vail. I ask you to support them as well.
