Vail Daily letter: Giving to education
Vail, CO, Colorado
I made my financial commitment to the Education Foundation of Eagle County because I’m a parent who is a passionate believer that quality public education is essential for our children and our community.
We all know that public education has seen major cuts, and the financial forecast is grim. The statistics are dismal. Our school district had to cut an additional $5.5 million for the 2012-13 school year after a drastic $9 million cut in 2010-11.
The foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to raise private funding to offset these budgetary cuts and keep our exceptional teachers in the classroom. They are diligently working in partnership with the district to strategically fund initiatives and programs that will put our children’s best interest first.
The foundation is committed to establishing a viable foundation that is invested in providing quality public education for every child in Eagle County.
We’re very fortunate in Eagle county to have amazing teachers who continue to inspire our children. Teachers are fundamental in ensuring the best education for our children and their future.
The more we cut, the less opportunities our children have to succeed in the world. We all need to be advocates for our children and public education so that our Vail Valley community continues to thrive and be the best place to call home.
Be part of the solution, make your financial commitment to the foundation today so that every child in Eagle County’s public school is guaranteed the necessary resources to succeed. Public education needs your support! You can make your tax deductible donation online at http://www.efec.org or mail to Education Foundation of Eagle County, P.O. 18533, Avon, CO 81620
