Vail Daily letter: Great support for Pretty in Pink
Throughout October local salons, spas, restaurants and even the Eagle River firefighters rallied to raise awareness for breast cancer and Shaw Regional Cancer Center, a service of Vail Valley Medical Center. Not only did these groups help flood the valley with pink to raise awareness, but over $13,000 was donated to help patients receive diagnostic testing who couldn’t afford it otherwise.Pretty In Pink was another strong example of our community’s compassion and caring – traits that our cancer center and medical center strive to deliver each day. I’d like to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone involved – the local businesses that saw the value in joining with us, the stylists and servers who volunteered their time and the donors who gave in support of breast cancer.A special thank you to: eTown; The Dusty Boot; Eagle River Fire Protection District; Allegria at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek; Dreaming Tree Spa; High Altitude Spa; Spa Anjeli; Kuttin Korner; Westone Salon; Fusion Hair Studio; Peridot Hair Design; Green Leaf Spa; Bloom Spa; Brush Creek Elementary School; DJ’s Hair Shoppe; Terry’s Hair Studio; Jacquie Landt of Stella & Dot; Salon Axis; Strands; Mane Street Hair Design; Elements Day Spa; Candi Johns Salon; In Kahoots; Salon Nouveau; Sonnenalp Resort of Vail; Aria Spa; Crazy Mountain Brewery and C&C Spa.Thanks to so many, Pretty In Pink was a success and will help many local women.Doris Kirchner President and CEO of Vail Valley Medical Center
