Vail Daily letter: Great Tax Day rally
Vail, CO, Colorado
A dozen members of the Vail Valley 9.12 Project attended the Tax Day rally at the Denver Capitol, along with about 2,000 patriots from all walks of life. There were young people, teenagers, college kids, middle-agers, boomers and old fogies like me.
Although the majority as noted by the left, were Caucasians, I saw African-Americans, Arabs and Hispanics of all ages.
A sign next to me being held high by a Hispanic woman read “America SI! — Chavez NO!” There were two African-American speakers who fired up the crowd. So much for the racist, terrorist, fringe radical nonsensical descriptions of folks like us.
Oh yes, I almost forgot that there were two unpleasantries at the rally. The first was that some miscreant jumped on to the podium and grabbed the microphone from a speaker. I think he mumbled something about 9/11 being an inside job and ran off like a typical coward, never to be seen again. The second unpleasantry was a small group with signs that again mentioned that 9/11 was an inside job.
Absent were the hate-filled signs, vitriol and profane shouting that my wife and I experienced when we picketed a pro-singlepayer Obamacare event at the same venue last May.
All in all, the Tax Day rally was a great event.
What I got out of this rally was that America is getting hip to the real meaning of President Obama’s statement the he would “fundamentally change the United States of America.”
He spoke the truth. We are now realizing what he actually meant. We are in the midst of his plan.
Thank you, President Obama! You really have awakened the American people. What you and your legions in Congress have already changed and will try to change over the next seven months will be fixed in November.
That is our new mantra. “Change” has a musty connotation thanks to the last election. I prefer “Fix” or “Fix You Can Believe In.”
You and Congress have awakened the backbone of this country. We want manufacturing to return to this country.
We want farming to return to this country. We want jobs to be here in the United States of America.
We want our currency stabilized and inflation ended by ending the Federal Reserve as President John F. Kennedy had signed into law in 1963. Unfortunately, President Kennedy was assassinated three weeks later, and LBJ rescinded the order.
Most important, we want to elect members to Congress who will represent the people who sent them there and will hold to the tenets of the Constitution of the United States of America!
Mr. Obama, we realize that the present state of the nation did not begin on your watch, but it has certainly deteriorated on it, and now you own it.
