Vail Daily letter: He lived life to the fullest

It was with deep sadness that I heard of the loss of my friend, Frank D’Alessio.

For all of us who were blessed to have had Frank as a friend in our lives, to know Frank was to love Frank. He had an infectious way of sharing his passions with you, and lived life to the fullest everyday. As his son Richard so eloquently said about his father at his service, Frank knew that this life was not a dress rehearsal. Frank was his son’s best friend, it is understandable why.

Frank’s focus was not about his accomplishments, but about yours and your family’s. He took pride in your children’s successes, as if they were his own children. He was a true mentor, and wanted those around him to have the tools to succeed in life as he did.

If we could all take away a little of Frank’s compassion for others, we would all be better for it.

I will miss Frank D’Alessio dearly.
