Vail Daily letter: Health care on the cheap
Vail, CO, Colorado
Brielle Stockton’s letter (about breast exams) was excellent and very much to the point. Clearly, the special task force’s pronouncement regarding mammograms for women under 50 and over 75 years of age was a trial balloon for the proposed new federal health plan now under consideration and, clearly, driven by anticipated cost savings.
They are essentially saying that the cost of mammograms for those age groups are not worth the agfewag lives they might save. They offer no alternative, such as ultrasound exams, which are more reliable but more costly.
This is a foretaste of ObamaCare. If one likes this appallingly bad decision made by a federally funded, faceless agtask forceag appointed by unknown persons or federal agencies, and is impressed by the tiny trickle of doses of swine flu vaccine promised to be available — agenough for everyoneag — by Oct. 15, one should love ObamaCare!
