Vail Daily letter: Housing Authority supports Red Sandstone

The members of the Vail Local Housing Authority would like to express our support to the Eagle County Board of Education and the community to keep Red Sandstone Elementary School open.
The mission of the Vail Local Housing Authority is to work with the Vail Town Council to promote affordable housing initiatives such as the development and/or acquisition of workforce housing. The goal of these efforts is to provide housing options for the Vail workforce within the town of Vail.
We believe that having a public school to serve the families living in the town of Vail goes hand in hand with the mission of the Housing Authority and is critical to the ongoing economic vitality of the town.
We urge the residents of the town of Vail and the members of the Vail business community to join us in supporting the future of Red Sandstone Elementary School.
Please consider attending the next school board meeting to voice your opinion. The meeting is currently scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the Town Hall in Eagle located at 200 Broadway.
The School Board will post the agenda for the meeting on the Eagle County Schools website http//www.eagleschools.net) on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, and the agenda will reflect any change to the meeting location and time, if any.
