Vail Daily letter: Isn’t it ironic?

The irony does not escape me. Battle Mountain High School was designed with large south-facing windows across the entire front side of the building. And yet these windows, which were designed to allow natural light in and reduce energy costs, were a waste. More often than not, BMHS keeps all of its lights on all night long. I’m doubtful of someone going in and switching them on each evening. This brings me to the conclusion that they are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

What was the dollar amount in energy savings the school system hoped for to offset budget shortfalls, quoted just a few weeks ago in the Vail Daily?
