Vail Daily letter: Keep Vail funds here
Vail, CO, Colorado
I am just reading my Vail Daily, like usual, and I learned that local companies are pumping money into the Tahoe resorts. In other words, Vail Resorts takes money it earns in Vail and invests it in Tahoe. But they don’t want to spend the money for a reasonable gondola with two stations to the top of Vail Mountain.
Maybe that’s good for Vail Resorts, but I don’t see any advantage for Vail if we help build up other ski resorts. Why is this company called Vail Resorts?
I was one of the guys who helped start Vail. Yes, I know my work was very unimportant, but I was a part of it when it started. I was always proud how Vail was growing and it became a wonderful ski resort. To see now how Vail is used to increase business in Tahoe for a big company doesn’t make me very happy.
