Vail Daily letter: Keeping packs full

Food Rescue Express Board of Directors
Vail, CO, Colorado

Food Rescue Express and the kids in Food for Kids Backpack Program want to wish each of you a happy, healthy and safe holiday and new year.

Thank you for your very kind donation of food from our shopping list and your financial donations. Thank you, Vail Resorts Echo Program, for your donation. Without the donations of food and financial ones, we would be unable to continue the program.

From September to December 2011, we have done 648 backpacks equivalent to 3,888 meals. We are doing about 70 backpacks a week. We have made a huge impact in some of the elementary schools and will continue to do so. We want to make sure that the kids stay healthy and happy throughout the school year.

We would like your help. If you would like to support a child with food for one month, it’s $30, and for one school year, $200.

We are a non-profit exempt organization under section 501(c)3. All donations are tax deductible. We are an all-volunteer program and not affiliated with any other organization.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

You can mail your check to Food Rescue Express, Box 2874, Edwards, CO 81632. You can send us at our email address foodrescueexpress @gmail.com or visit our web site foodrescueexpress.org for more information. Thank you for your support.
