Vail Daily letter: King for Eagle Town Board
Vail, CO, Colorado
We have known John King for a number of years and we believe he is an outstanding choice for Eagle trustee.
John is a hard-working, honest, critical thinker with a good dose of common sense. John has been very successful in the management of people and multi-million dollar budgets with his 30-year construction career in the valley.
John served on the Eagle County Planning Commission for 10 years, two years as chairman. John is well versed in the land-use issues and the need to manage these issues in order to preserve the lifestyle we all enjoy in Eagle.
As a native of Colorado and a long-term resident of Eagle, John is concerned for the future of Eagle.
We have had conversations with John regarding his positions on issues facing Eagle. We would like to share a few of his responses.
First and formost, improve the communications between the town of Eagle and the voting shareholders.
Ease traffic congestion through town from the south side of Eagle.
Look at equitable public access from Eagle to the federally owned land that surrounds Eagle, for all users, while being responsible to the environment.
Send Eagle River Station either packing or back to the voters. What part of “no” do the town of Eagle and the developer not understand?
Responsible management of one of our most valuable assests, Eagle water rights.
The ballots have been sent out. Make the right choice for the future of Eagle. Vote for John King.

Kostick for Eagle mayor
I got to know Yuri Kostick in 2008 when I made a movie called ‘Our Town.’ At the time Yuri was one of 2 members of the Board of Trustees in Eagle who had an open minded approach addressing issues that came to town hall. Yuri’s experience as an environmental planner for the county shined through in that he really understood that Eagle needed to focus on a sustainable town plan with support from the community as opposed to having our town plan forced upon us by out-of-state developers. I’ll be voting for Yuri Kostick on Tuesday, April 3rd for Mayor of Eagle.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
