Vail Daily letter: Layman for commissioner

Nora Fryklund
Vail, CO, Colorado

In the next few days, Republican voters will receive a primary ballot from Eagle County government for the primary election for county commissioner, District I. Your vote absolutely counts in this primary election.

I am asking you to vote for Jeff Layman. Jeff has a long history of public service and leadership. I have known Jeff for several years and have personally witnessed his leadership abilities as undersheriff for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and more recently, community manager for Eagle-Vail.

Eagle County faces a multitude of challenges starting and ending with a poor economy. We need a commissioner who is fiscally conservative, supports responsible growth and is a visionary. Jeff is also results oriented and passionate about our citizens and will focus on job preservation and creation. Jeff, as commissioner, knows his way around a budget, is experienced in solving complex problems, is familiar with all of the players and can hit the ground running.

Those who know Jeff will tell you that listening to ideas is his strong suit and that encouraging and facilitating positive change is what he does best.

A vote for Jeff will ensure that we have a progressive candidate with strong character for the commissioner’s position. Jeff Layman will look out for what is best for the citizens of Eagle County.
