Vail Daily letter: Many thanks at season’s end

Elisabetta and Steve Virion
La Bottega Restaurant and Wine Bar
Vail, CO Colorado

We would like to take this opportunity at the end of the season to thank some of the unsung and sometimes frowned-upon cogs in the wheel that make up Vail as we know it today.

To the concierges who have sent us countless reservations, we thank you for what can often times be a thankless job.

To the town of Vail for putting forth a revitalization plan for our town which has created both jobs and beds. With the development of Solaris, the Sebastian and the Four Seasons, Meadow Drive has become a central hub of the town and has been a huge boost for our restaurant and hopefully all of the businesses on this street. Not to mention the Sonnenalp, One Willow Bridge and the Mountain Haus.

To Highline Sports, who both begin and end the season with two of the major events which bring people to Vail at a time when we would probably not have any significant traffic in Vail. James, Jeff and their entire staff are true heroes in our eyes by putting on Snow Daze, Spring Back to Vail and all other events which boost our economy.

To Vail Resorts for running and maintaining the best mountain in the world. Through their marketing efforts, we have seen a huge increase in the Latin sector, which represents a large part of our clientele in the winter and hopefully throughout the summer months.

To all of our friends and clients, both local and visiting who have helped us to grow into what has become a mainstay of the Vail dining scene.

To our Mexican, Central and South American friends for all of your support since we started with a 15-seat restaurant back in 1997.

A special thanks to our staff, without whom we could not have achieved any of the success that we all share today through their dedication and hard work.

And a heartfelt thanks to the Staufer family for having the faith and confidence in us to give us this opportunity to be a small part of Vail.

There are many elements which make up this town and for those not listed above, thank you for everything. We have not forgotten you.

And last but definetly not least, to God for all this snow!
