Vail Daily letter: Moffet for council
Vail, CO Colorado
I’m encouraging voters to cast their votes for my brother, Greg Moffet.
You might snort at my recommendation because he’s my brother – and I couldn’t blame you – but consider these facts: To anyone who follows our local politics and business scene, you know that he has the experience and relationships in place as a prior council member, his years of public service and participation on many boards and advisory committees, and he’s a business owner who raised his two girls here in the valley. All of which means that his concern for the valley is heart-felt, he’s family-oriented and highly focused on the financial health of the town.
He also has relationships with the county at large and is a constant and necessary presence as an advocate for Vail in terms of county issues. He doesn’t scare easily when confronted with a challenging issue (or person), and he’s comfortable deciding and executing rather than standing by while things get bogged down in the paralysis of analysis that so often plagues government. He’s a doer who will bring his healthy skepticism to the issues at hand.
The brother part? He’s funny, he’s been a tremendous father and husband, he’s no slouch on a bike (except that one time when he broke his neck), he’s smart and fair, and he’s been my boss for nearly 15 years. As his sole employee, I know he’s not a micromanager.
He will also bring this to his work as your council member, with colleagues who also know what they’re doing while being an honest collaborator. He makes a mean green chili.
