Vail Daily letter: Need to pass 5A

John Nichols
Vail, CO, Colorado

Eagle-Vail is 34-plus years old, tired, outdated and run down. Burying of the powerlines is so far overdue.

The power company is going to cut the trees down under them. The fencing along Highway 6, while well-intentioned, does little to enhance our neighborhood curb appeal. The entry features are beat up and outmoded. The water features are silted in and long overdue for dredging. We have no sidewalks.

Every homeowner knows our amenities are falling apart, and on and on the list goes. Apathy and denial have put us in this state of affairs.

Right now is the time for us to commit to reinvesting in our neighborhood.

Right now is the time to get involved, volunteer for a committee and become part of the solution.

Most importantly, right now is the time for homeowners to step up, take control of our neighborhood and commit to do what is necessary to restore pride of ownership in Eagle-Vail. Right now is the time for 5A: Vote yes!
