Vail Daily letter: Nice fundraiser

On behalf of The Literacy Project, I would like to thank all of our community members who came out to support us during Larkspur’s guest bartender night on Oct. 20.

With the help of our leading ladies behind the bar – Cricket Pylman and Kari Thorne – we welcomed more than 60 guests, from librarians and teachers to bankers and business owners. Together, you raised more than $1,800 for The Literacy Project. Thank you!

Specifically we would like to show appreciation for Cricket Pylman and Kari Thorne, as well as the entire Larkspur team. Additional gratitude goes out to our silent auction donors, including The Bookworm of Edwards, Larkspur Restaurant, D’Oro Ristorante, Maria Alvarez Massage Therapy, Dawn Horn Reflexology and Prisca Boris of Yoga for Athletes.

The money raised for The Literacy Project will help to provide free tutoring and services to adults and children in Eagle County through a variety of programs including individual sessions, classroom applications, book delivery, early childhood education and workplace literacy skills. More than 500 people benefit from these programs each year.

Thank you for all of your support!
