Vail Daily letter: Not his favorite music
Vail, CO, Colorado
Last year, I wrote a letter describing my disappointment in the Vilar’s winter concert series music lineup when other great venues nearby (Belly Up) continue to impress with amazing diversity and talented musicians.
This winter, the Vilar offered the people of Eagle County the beautiful sounds of David Archuleta, elevator harmony from Bruce Hornsby and a night of Motown magic with the Commodores, who have sold over 70 million records (69,999,900 sold prior to 1980), while the Belly Up offered a little different music perspective with such “ho-hum” bands as Jane’s Addiction, Widespread Panic, deadmau5, Umphrey’s McGee, Flaming Lips and G. Love.

A night with The Queen of Folkabilly, Ms. Nanci Griffith? k.d. lang and Creedence Clearwater Revisited without John Fogerty?
To my friends in Denver and Aspen, get ready for another fun-filled summer of concerts, none of which will be held in the Vail Valley. I’ll bring my pillow …
