Vail Daily letter: Perfect Potatopalooza

Erin Seabury
Eagle, CO, Colorado

Well, the fourth annual Potatopalooza is behind us and what a great turnout! I would like to thank everyone for coming down to Eagle on Saturday. The music lineup was phenomenal with entertainers like Hardscrabble, Bluzilla, The Sessh and Bonfire! All bands put on a great show. The Couch Potato Race and Potato Car Derby were both fun and exciting. Thank you to all those who participated!

I would like to thank my sponsors, which included the town of Eagle, First Bank, Eagle Valley Realty, Mountain Beverage, NRC Broadcasting, the Vail Daily, KZYR/The Zephyr, Vail Mountaineer and One Eagle. I would also like to thank Resolution Graphics-Sue Hibbs and Jill Anderson-Anderson Marketing for helping me market this event.

The Eagle Police and town maintenance gave me an overwhelming amount of support that I am very grateful for. Also thank you to the Red Ribbon Project, The Literacy Project and Slifer, Smith and Frampton staff for volunteering in the beer garden. We had great vendors and volunteers too. All did a great job and insured that everyone was having a good time!

I would like to thank The Dusty Boot for sponsoring the couch potato race and making such great trophies! Also, Eagle Ranch and Erin Vega for organizing the Potato Car Derby and Teep Blevins for building such a great derby car track. John Cummins and Street Swell were new to this event and we thank them for the generous raffle and for letting all the patrons demo their great boards.

Thank you to Craig Colby of Broadway Liquors for his generosity in sponsoring the potato vodka tent and Nate and Tara Picklo at Yeti’s Grind for the use of their refrigerator and ice. I also thank my staff at Everyday Outfitters. I could not produce this event if I didn’t have such a great group of women working for me. Finally, I thank my husband, Doug, and my children, Christopher and Sharon, Holli Snyder and Jerry Wetzel for their patience, love and energy.
