Vail Daily letter: Politicians don’t understand Constitution

My wife and I attended a workshop on Nov.14 titled “The Constitution Made Easy.” We were blown away with regard to how little we know about this incredible document — what it took to write, what it means and how Congress, over many decades, has systematically violated and disregarded it.

Congress has disregarded our Constitution to a point where they admit to our faces that they knowingly ignore it.

When Nancy Pelosi was asked recently if she realized that H.R. 3962 was unconstitutional, her reply was “Are you serious?”

In every oath of office, from the president on down, the oath taker swears to uphold the Constitution. These politicians have violated their oath. We need to turn out all current politicians and replace them with people who recognize that the Constitution of the United States of America is not a living document to be changed at the whim of those in Congress.

It is a charter and can only be changed by amendments. Amendments need two-thirds of the House and Senate and three quarters of the states and the populous to ratify. H.R.3962, “cap and trade” and anything signed by our president in Copenhagen is unconstitutional!

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Wake up! Your great, great, great grandchildren are depending on us to deliver a viable republic to them!
