Vail Daily letter: Project Graduation gears up

Gerry Sandberg

Soon, members of the class of 2010 will be graduating from Eagle Valley High School and taking their memories of their high school years with them wherever life leads them.

As parents of the class of 2010, we want our now young adults to celebrate this occasion in a safe and positive environment. Project Graduation is designed to provide our graduating seniors with an alternative to drinking and drugs in celebration of the culmination of their high school years.

Project Graduation has for years involved our seniors in positive activities with their graduation classmates and supervising adults.

Traditionally, Project Graduation starts after graduation practice when all of the seniors are together and can be transported together for activities and meals for the rest of that day and overnight.

Obviously, the economy in Eagle County has changed from previous years, but the need for support from the community still exists in order to continue this event.
