Vail Daily letter: Read this resolution

Vail Daily
Vail, CO Colorado

Recently, Rep. John Carter introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives that would have required Rep. Charles Rangel to step down from his influential position as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee pending completion of the investigation into his affairs by the Commit-tee on Standards of Official Conduct.

The text of the resolution can be found here: 2009/10/07/raw-data-resolution-oust- rangel-chair-tax-writing-house- committee. ( Don’t get upset because it is from Fox – it was just a convenient URL to reference. It is complete and correct.) Rangel had already made a very important list of the most corrupt members of Congress – both Republicans and Democrats. This list can be found at www. business insider. com/ the- most- corrupt-members- of-congress-2009-9.

I encourage everyone to visit this site and read the article.

Our representative in Con-gress, Jared Polis, voted to table this resolution ( as did Markey). I have written to him asking him to explain why he voted to table this resolution. The reso-lution is clear, and the facts as stated are not in dispute, to my knowledge.
