Vail Daily letter: Setting the standard again
Senior vice president and chief operating officer, Vail Mountain
Vail, CO Colorado
Last week, Vail Resorts announced very positive third-quarter and 2010-11 season results. The company’s continued commitment to investing in our resorts, in our communities and in the guest experience all contributed to Vail once again setting the standard in the industry with an increase in skier visits at Vail Mountain of 9.2 percent to a new all-time record of 1.75 million.
I appreciate the opportunity to thank my colleagues at Vail, from operations to marketing, from hospitality to public relations, from food and beverage to environmental stewardship, for all of their hard work – the No. 1 driver in my mind that elevates the guest experience and guests’ satisfaction with their time on the mountain. This is evidenced by the fact that we also set records by a wide margin in our guest-satisfaction measurements.
I cannot thank the community enough, from the restaurants and retail shops, from town staff and leadership to local residents, for our successful collaborative efforts – parking-management programs, marketing programs, lodging incentives – that also resulted in premier guest experiences. What a testament to all the hard work that went into the past 10 years of revitalization and redevelopment efforts to have set records together and solved issues together, on the mountain and off, this past season.
I, and our company, look forward to celebrating all of this and more this summer. See you in the village and on the mountain!
