Vail Daily letter: Sins of the godless
Vail, CO, Colorado
Kirk Aker, the progressive assault on Christ during the past 50 years has resulted in societal and moral decline in every measure possible, from unwed pregnancy, drug use, literacy, SAT scores, honesty, murder, rape or any other measure you wish to look at.
You state that it is the parent’s responsibility to provide and teach morals. Morals come from this same God who is belittled and abused in public schools and hated by progressives – you know, the 10 Commandments.
How do you think your progressive ideals are working out for our society? Godless kids pumped out of politically correct public schools, some who seem to think it is OK to mimic a video game and shoot up a school. The progressive response is predictable: Blame the gun instead of the godless soul who pulled the trigger. You have the right not to believe in Christ. The Bible calls it free will. You are correct, I do believe social justice are dirty words, because Jesus Christ did not teach social justice. In fact, he taught the opposite.
He wanted to change the hearts of men, not level the playing field. Social justice is the government taking equally from those who have. Social justice embodies essential principles of equity (George Mason University definition), but Jesus Christ taught you individually must give to those who need. If you do not understand the difference, you don’t understand Christianity.
Jesus Christ came, died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected to provide an example for us who believe. John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

The Bible also speaks about people like you. 1 Cor 1:18-19: “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
Mr. Aker, I hope you take the time this Easter Sunday to visit one of the Christian churches in the valley to take a little of God’s grace into your heart.
