Vail Daily letter: Supports Gems
Vail, CO Colorado
I am writing as a mother of four, grandmother of nine and great–grandmother to two.
It is imperative that the Hidden Gems wilderness proposal succeeds. Being raised in the city and now liv-ing in and near pristine wilderness, I have a unique perspective on this preservation proposal. Existing near the untainted wildlands and the beasties that call it home is healing physically, mentally and spiritually. It affects all who live and visit our marvelous valley.
Edward Abbey said, ” Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit.” Let’s protect, preserve and pass on to those who will come after us the gift of the untouched and untainted wilds.
Though I am not as physically nimble as I used to be, dwelling near and experiencing true wilderness keeps my mind and my spirit strong. Let’s offer the same for those who will come after us.
Supporting Hidden Gems gives all of us the opportunity to be altruistic tenants of this beautiful place we are blessed to call home.
