Vail Daily letter: Teachers make a difference

Amber and Scott Prince
Vail, CO, Colorado

Do you want to make the Vail Valley a better place to live and work? We all agree educating our youth is one of the most important issues facing our local community and country. We are supporters of Eagle County Schools and its dedication to being a top quality education system. Our 1st grade son is thriving at an Eagle County School due to the dedication and commitment of his teachers and the support staff that are a part of this district. But with the recent budget cuts, we are concerned about changes to come and are asking the community to support our teachers and schools.

Effective and passionate teachers make the difference in educating children. We believe what makes a teacher effective, is on going professional development, collaboration and mentoring. It is for this reason my husband and I support and donate to the Education Foundation of Eagle County, EFEC.

EFEC is a local non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to funding strategic initiatives and programs for quality education in Eagle County.

EFEC’s primary focus is raising funds to put the most qualified educators with our students. The most effective way to increase student achievement is by having the best teachers in front of every one of our students. Teachers are what make a difference. Do you want to live in an area known for a poor school system? Nobody does, but we all need to help.

Please join us in making a tax deductible donation today at http://www.efec.org
