Vail Daily letter: Thanks fellas

I recently ran into difficulty with my Mercedes trying to go over the pass on my way to Denver. I was fortunate enough to be able to make it into the West Vail Shell Station at the end of town. After I explained my particular problem to Tomas, the manager of AST Mechanics, which resides inside the station, they went right to work on it.

It soon became apparent I would be spending the night, and they got me situation in the local Holiday Inn. Tomas assessed the problem and ordered the part, which was only done on his experience and knowledge.

Originally, the part was going to arrive on Monday, as this was a Friday, but he arranged a special pickup, and we waited for the part to arrive at 4 p.m. However, a construction delay at Eisenhower Tunnel put the delivery at 7 p.m.

They were not deterred and promptly announced he would go to his dinner and then come back and fix my car that night. And, sure enough, Nick, his assistant, was there and made the repair.

I was soon on my way and arrived in Denver shortly thereafter, but not before Nick called to see if I was all right.

I am overwhelmed with the caring professional attitude and service I received. I don’t know anyone who has been treated like this at any service center and can only thank God for people like this.

Truly, Tomas and his team are the best. Thanks guys. May God bless you.
