Vail Daily letter: Thanks for cleanup on Vail Mountain
Vail, CO, Colorado
On behalf of all of us at Vail Resorts, I’d like to extend an enormous and very sincere thank-you to the 250-plus volunteers who came out for Vail Mountain’s cleanup day and tree planting on Tuesday.
I’d also like to thank Don Dressler and our partners at the U.S. Forest Service for providing the seedlings we planted and leadership for our planting efforts.
Last, but certainly not least, thanks to our Vail Mountain staff members who planned and coordinated the day and provided lunch for all of us.
Collectively, we picked up and removed more than 6,000 pounds of trash from the mountain, including more than a few interesting treasures.
We also planted 1,500 Englemann spruce seedlings, which will replace beetle-killed lodgepole pine and provide the next generation of trees on Vail Mountain. This work will have an enormously positive impact on our environment immediately and for years to come.
Thank you to everyone who came out and participated. We truly could not have accomplished what we did without you. It was a beautiful day and a great success.
