Vail Daily letter: Thanks for great mountain bike racing season!
Vail, CO, Colorado
On behalf of the Vail Recreation District, I’d like to extend a heart-felt thank you to everyone who made the 2009 Vail Beaver Creek Mountain Bike Race Series an overwhelming success.
This summer, we debuted two new courses — the Vail Grind and the Beaver Creek Blast — and saw a 14 percent increase in adult participation. More exciting, kids’ participation jumped 41 percent over last year and Jay Henry set a new course record for the Davos Dash.
All this was made possible because of the support and cooperation from the community and sponsors, local businesses and bike shops, volunteers and racers.
Special thanks are due to the U.S. Forest Service, Vail and Beaver Creek SAC crews and Steadman Hawkins. We are already looking forward to next year! Thanks again!
